Community Jazz Band
Bridge Club The Friends of the Library will be conducting a Book Donation Day on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Please bring used books, CDs, DVDs, tapes, puzzles and computer software to the back door of the library.No records or magazines, please. Curbside service will be provided. The donated materials will be sold at the April book sale and the proceeds will benefit the library. Donations are tax deductible. Donate 10 items on this day and receive a pass to the Friends Presale day on April 25. If you are unable to donate on this day, bring donations to the main checkout desk during regular library hours.
Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale Thursday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Saturday, fill a bag for $3. Unsold materials will be given away free of charge to teachers or non-profit organizations beginning at 2 p.m. Patrons Night will be Tuesday, April 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations are $10 per person. Donations for Friends Members are $5 per person. Friends memberships may be purchased at the door. There will be a Friends Members Presale on Wednesday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Shipwrecks of Lake Erie
The Friends of Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library's 33rd annual Needlework show was again a great success. Best of Show honors went to Joyce Feucht of Akron who entered her intricate Stumpwork piece (left). Stumpwork is a raised form of embroidery.
![]() Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library's Annual April Fool's Day celebration, Silly Saturday, was fun for the entire family. Participants had to locate all the things that were just a little out-of-place at the library. Winners were mother and daughter Theresa and Allison Voneida, who found all 50 out-of-place items. ![]() New Book Discussion Group The Adult Services Department is interested in adding another book discussion group to its schedule of programs. Adult book discussion groups are for adults 18 years and older. There is no fee to attend, advanced registration is not required and all books to be discussed will be provided by the library. If you would be interested in attending a new book discussion group, contact Barbara Nelson at 330-688-3295 and let her know what types of books you would like to discuss, what day of the week would be best for you and whether you would prefer a morning, afternoon or evening session.

Need to Use a Computer? Call ahead and reserve one!
Computer Training
Classes will start at 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., or 7:00 p.m. Ticket release times will be 9:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively. Students should have their Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library cards available when they come for their tickets. The classroom has eleven seats at computers and an additional three seats without a computer. If all eleven "computer" seats are taken, three "non-computer" tickets will go to the next three students.This change is to prevent students from being closed out of classes on the first day of registrations. We hope that this new system will make it easier for out students to get the classes they want.

Drive-Up Window Don't forget about the Drive-Up Window service at Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. This is an especially helpful service during inclement weather! The drive-up window is open during regular library hours and closes 15 minutes before library closing.
Pick 5 Bestsellers Club
The mixed media art exhibit of Stow resident Ken Gessford will be on display in the Corner Gallery and in the display cases throughout April. Gessford, a retired art instructor will exhibit a wide variety of media, including clay, sculpture, enameling, photography, jewelry and even model trains. The work displayed is a retrospective, representing a life-long journey through his various visions as an artist.

The Stow-Munroe Falls Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization which encourages voluntary financial support for the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. This support is used to help meet both the present and future needs of the patrons of the library. The purposes of the corporation include focusing public attention on library services, facilities, and needs in the Stow-Munroe Falls area; to stimulate and encourage the gifts of funds, books, desirable collections, endowments, and bequests to the library; and to receive, hold, manage, use, and dispose of funds and properties of all kinds, whether given absolutely or in trust, for the benefit of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. The next meeting of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation is Tuesday, April 17 at 5 p.m. at the library. The public is invited to attend.
The Friends of the Library is a citizen support group for Library services and activities. They sponsor booksales as well as the annual Needlework Show and other activities. Friends meet the third Tuesday of every month (except December and July) at 2:00 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room. In celebration of the season of love, the American Film Institute has assembled a list of 100 of the most romantic movies of all time, called "100 Years--100 Passions." Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library owns many of these films, including their top romantic films of all time: Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, West Side Story, Roman Holiday, An Affair to Remember, The Way We Were, Doctor Zhivago, It's A Wonderful Life, Love Story and Annie Hall.
