Traditional IRA or Roth IRA...Which is Right for You?
Learn the advantages of a traditional IRA vs. the advantages of a Roth IRA at a program on Monday, April 9 at 6 p.m.at Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. Learn about rules, minimum and maximum contribution limits, 401K, 403b and 457 retirement accounts, education IRAs and IRAs for your children. Guitar Music by Tom Conner
A concert of guitar music by local musician Tom Conner will be presented Wednesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. He will play all styles of music, including standards, light classic pieces, Celtic, light jazz renditions, country and bluegrass and some of his own original compositions. Conner has studied the classics for solo nylon string guitar and has released the CDs That's a Classic and Guitar My Way. His influences include Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Julian Bream and jazz guitarists Johnny Smith, Wes Montgomery and Tommy Emmanuel. The concert is sponsored by Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library and the Friends of Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library.

Evening Book Discussions
The evening book discussion group with Amy Garrett meets the fourth Thursday of the month through April 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Books are available at the Adult Information Desk prior to the discussion date.

Summer Book Discussions
Summer book discussion groups will meet in June, July and August on the second Friday of the month at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Chris Caccamo will be group leader for the summer discussions. Watch for more details coming soon!

Need to Use a Computer? Call ahead and reserve one!
Computers with Internet Access, located in the Adult Services Department of the library are always in great demand. If you are planning a trip to the library to use the computer, please call ahead and make a reservation. There may NOT be one available if you don't make a reservation! Computer time can be reserved up to one week in advance. Staff at the Adult Information Desk can schedule you for up to two hours of time once per day, Monday through Saturday and up to one hour of time on Sunday. Don't be disappointed! Call ahead! Computer Training
The library offers classes for beginning computer users and more advanced users. They include Introduction to Computers, Introduction to the Internet, and training in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Classes are offered both day and evening at no charge. New Computer Class Signup Procedure
You no longer have to sign up for computer classes weeks ahead of time! Instead, we will have numbered tickets for each class at the Adult Information Desk. On the day of the class, starting one half-hour before class time, the tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Classes will start at 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., or 7:00 p.m. Ticket release times will be 9:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively.

Students should have their Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library cards available when they come for their tickets.

The classroom has eleven seats at computers and an additional three seats without a computer. If all eleven "computer" seats are taken, three "non-computer" tickets will go to the next three students.This change is to prevent students from being closed out of classes on the first day of registrations. We hope that this new system will make it easier for out students to get the classes they want.

Anime Club
The next meeting of the Anime Club for ages 12 to 18 will be Saturday, May 5 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Join other otaku (anime fans) to talk about your favorite series, characters, villains and anything else anime-related. Snacks provided.Registration is not required.

Make Your Own....Magnetic Poetry Kit!
As part of the National Library Week celebration, teens can come to the library on Monday, April 16 at 7 p.m. to make their own Magnetic Poetry Kit. Turn ordinary words into a fun game you can take with you wherever you go. Speak your mind--with magnets! All supplies will be provided. Chess Club
Play chess against a variety of opponents and learn new moves on Tuesday, April 17. Peer Instruction is from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., game play is from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Chess Club is for elementary and high school students age 5 and older who are familiar with the basic rules of chess. Snacks are provided. Registration is not required.

Yu-Gi-Oh card swap
The next Yu-Gi-Oh card swap for ages 5 to 17 will be Saturday, April 7 from 12:30 to 1:30. Bring your cards to play and swap cards with other Yu-Gi-Oh fans. Registration is not required.

Baseball: History and Heroes
Get ready for baseball season at the library on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. Join us for stories, trivia and games about our All-American sport. Bring your favorite adult and enjoy an indoor baseball game and treats from the ballpark. Don't forget to wear something to show us your favorite team. Leave early and you'll miss some really great door prizes. The program is for children ages 6-10 and an adult. Registration is appreciated but NOT required and it begins April 9.

Storybook Theater
Hey kids, join us for Storybook Theater! This season, the library will be showing several short films one Friday per month at 10:00 AM. The next program is April 20. Children of all ages are welcome to stop by and see a classic movie based on a classic storybook. Registration is not required.

Pick 5 Bestsellers Club
How would you like to automatically be placed on the reserve list for five of your favorite popular authors? Join our Bestsellers Club and that's exactly what will happen! Just pick up a form at the Circulation Desk and join over 300 satisfied members. Are you already a member, but would like to change an author or two? Ask for an "add/delete" form at the circulation desk. It's just that easy!

The mixed media art exhibit of Stow resident Ken Gessford will be on display in the Corner Gallery and in the display cases throughout April. Gessford, a retired art instructor will exhibit a wide variety of media, including clay, sculpture, enameling, photography, jewelry and even model trains. The work displayed is a retrospective, representing a life-long journey through his various visions as an artist.

The Friends of the Library is a citizen support group for Library services and activities. They sponsor booksales as well as the annual Needlework Show and other activities. Friends meet the third Tuesday of every month (except December and July) at 2:00 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room.

Springtime and romance just naturally go together. In celebration of the season of love, the American Film Institute has assembled a list of 100 of the most romantic movies of all time, called "100 Years--100 Passions." Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library owns many of these films, including their top romantic films of all time: Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, West Side Story, Roman Holiday, An Affair to Remember, The Way We Were, Doctor Zhivago, It's A Wonderful Life, Love Story and Annie Hall.
