Announcing Teen Summer Grand Prize Winner

Congratulations to our Grand Prize winner, Graci Puhala, randomly selected from all 188 participants in our Teen Summer Reading program. She won $75 in Amazon giftcards, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Congratulations also to all of our weekly winners, you guys all did a great job. Have a good rest of the summer and we'll see you in the library this fall!

Check out our new Playaway Locks!

Want to read an e-book but don't have an electronic device to read it on? Try one of our new Playaway Locks, available in the Teen Area of the library. A Lock is similar to a Kindle Paperwhite, it is a tablet-like touchscreen device pre-loaded with several teen e-books. No downloading necessary.

Library Card Sign-Up Month

Our library joins with the American Library Association and other public libraries nationwide to make sure that every student has the most important school supply of all – a library card. Patrons who sign up for a library card anytime during the month of September will receive a sweet treat! To sign up, patrons 18 and older must present a photo ID with current address.

The Michael L. Printz Award winners have been announced for 2017--the award for most distinguished book for teens published last year, as chosen by a national committee of librarians. The winner is March, Volume 3, by John Lewis Cover image, a graphic novel version of the true story of Civil Rights pioneer John Lewis. The Honor books (runners-up) are:

Star Wars: Rogue One Premiere Party this Saturday!

The Force is strong at the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library this month. Get ready for the premiere of the new Star Wars movie by joining us on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This drop-in family event has activities for all! Teens and adults: enter our trivia contest to win a hardback copy of SW: Catalyst (A Rogue One Novel) by James Luceno, and come in costume for a chance to win a $20 Regal Cinemas giftcard!

Vote for Teens Top Ten and the Buckeye Teen Book Award!

This fall you have a chance to vote for your favorite books in two contests, the Buckeye Teen Book Award, which is just for teens in Ohio, and the YALSA Teens Top Ten, which is for teens all across the United States. To vote for the Buckeye (and to nominate your favorite books for next year's Buckeye!) go to this website. Any teen in the state of Ohio can nominate for the Buckeyes.
