Read with a Book Pal

School-aged children who are reading will be paired with a teen to explore and read books together this summer. This program will take place in July and pairs will be asked to schedule four meetings during the month. Teen mentors, who must have completed the 7th grade, will be reading pals and not tutors. Together they will select and read books here at the library.

Sign up your child for this fun program - a chance to practice reading and make a new friend!

The Children's Room is an exciting place to be right now - they finally realized that it should be called "Spike's Place" and we have a new logo with a picture of me on it!!!  The librarians are fixing up the room for our summer reading program, "One World, Many Stories" and it is going to be alot of fun.  Miss Laurie is painting a beautiful rainforest on our windows.  Miss Joan, Miss Amy, Miss Kristin and Miss Jen are working on all sorts of decorations.  Miss Lydia even made a new Tween section for kids ages 8-12 to read and listen to cds and audiobooks.  So come

Drupal

I am excited about the Library's Drupal implementation. The website has excellent functionality and great graphical elements, and it is easy to navigate. Drupal is a powerful tool. I am interested in the JQuery modules that enable interactive, animated features and calendar functions.
