Teen Volunteers Celebrate Summer Reading

teenvol_2.jpg

The Summer Reading program has come to an end, and we want to thank all of our teen volunteers for collectively putting in more than two hundred hours of volunteer time helping kids learn crafts and helping them with their Summer reading.

Read with a Book Pal

School-aged children who are reading will be paired with a teen to explore and read books together this summer. This program will take place in July and pairs will be asked to schedule four meetings during the month. Teen mentors, who must have completed the 7th grade, will be reading pals and not tutors. Together they will select and read books here at the library.

Sign up your child for this fun program - a chance to practice reading and make a new friend!

Drupal

I am excited about the Library's Drupal implementation. The website has excellent functionality and great graphical elements, and it is easy to navigate. Drupal is a powerful tool. I am interested in the JQuery modules that enable interactive, animated features and calendar functions.
