Congratulations to April Sellman, who won the teen Summer Reading Program's Grand Prize: an iPod Nano! We had over 1900 entries from all the scratchoff tickets this summer, which means you all read over 5700 books! whoa! And, congratulations to Logan Morris, whose correct entry won the Summer Reading Clue Game (did you figure out where the librarians were vacationing? The Great Barrier Reef was the final answer). Logan won a $20 Borders giftcard. Thanks for reading this summer, everyone! You really "Made Waves at your library"!
...the Battle of the Books, that is! Our library's team of teen readers defeated the four-time champ Twinsburg Public Library in a dramatic come-from-behind victory, on the very last question! Whew! Congratulations to our team for claiming the trophy for Stow for the first time in the battle's history. Be sure to view the trophy on display in the Teen Area, and congratulate our players when you see them. They know their books!
We had a terrific time at our Foam Party last week! If you missed it, you missed a really foamy good time. There are plenty of pictures on our Flickr page here. (A brief video to follow soon.) It was such a great time we hope to have it again next year! Thanks to everyone who came and tried it out!

It's almost here! The Foam Party! next Thursday July 29, at 7pm, come to the Foam Party! Have a soak-tacular time playing in 20 square feet of FOAM! Think of an outdoor bubble bath, but without the water--just lots and lots of bubbles! You have to see it to believe it. No signup required, but wear a bathing suit and/or old clothes. The foam is hypo-allergenic and nontoxic, but you WILL get WET!
This Wed July 7 at 4pm, for grades 6 to 12. Experience tales of mayhem, mental powers and the macabre. See strange artifacts from the 1935 closing of Colney Hatch Mental Asylum. See an actual working replica of Thomas Edison's Spirit Telegraph, an invention supposedly able to communicate with those who have passed on. Try to solve the infamous Torso Murders, a Cleveland mystery which baffled famed lawman Elliot Ness. Learn about mentalist powers and hear stories of unbelievable events.
