Reading Patch Club

Reading is cool and so is being a member of this exciting library club!

Students in Grades K-5, who are reading on their own, will earn colorful embroidered patches during the school year.

Children may join the club at any time during the school year. To earn a patch, readers can read 10 books in each category - either chosen from our Reading Club lists or on their own.

Summer Reading Information for Parents

Kids who don’t read during the summer lose up to six months of academic progress according to statistics.  Don’t let this happen to your child.

Registration begins June 15 for our Summer Reading program. Kids will be given a reading log to keep track of their reading.  Non-readers (including babies) can also participate as parents and older siblings read to them.

The reading log indicates when you will receive incentive prizes.  When your log is completed, you will be entered into our Grand Prize drawing.  Ask at the downstairs Information Desk for details about the teen and adult summer reading programs.

Last year, 1476 children registered for the program and they read  15,996 hours.  Let’s make it another record-breaking year!  Tell everyone you know that  they should read over the summer.

Reading and All That Jazz  is a tribute to all of the arts.  Being creative and using your imagination is what this summer is all about.  You can be an artist or craftsperson, singer, dancer and much more.

Registration in the program is required to participate in our Bingo game and other drawings.  Registration ends July 31

Beginning June 22, you can start to collect your prizes.  All prizes have been donated by community businesses or purchased by the Friends of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library.  Many thanks for their continued support.
