Distribution and Display of Free Material Policy

The Library will provide, at its discretion, limited space for the distribution and display of community information materials, free handouts, or the posting of flyers, notices, and posters.  The bulletin board and information racks are only for use by local nonprofit organizations engaged in civic, educational, recreational, and cultural activities.

Video Games

The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library has a rotating collection of videogames in 3 formats for adult, teen and juvenile patrons. The collection consists of:

  • 10 Xbox360 games
  • 5 Wii games
  • 5 Playstation3 games
  • plus over 20 Playstation2 games

The titles are a mix of ratings from E for Everyone to M for Mature.

Fines and Loan

Renewals may be made in person or by phone: (330) 688-3295. You can also renew items using the My Account feature in the online catalog. Visit opac.smfpl.org/ , login to your account and select renew on the item to renew. Items with reserves (another patron waiting) may not be renewed. If fines exceed Five Dollars ($5.00), new loans will not be allowed.

Meeting Room Policy

Library Meeting Rooms: 
The primary purpose of our meeting rooms is to provide facilities for Library-related activities.  The needs of the Library, the Friends of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library, and the Stow-Munroe Falls Library Foundation will take precedence.  The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library reserves the right to cancel scheduled events or substitute rooms due to special Library programs.  Whenever possible, a one (1) month notice will be given.  No admission fee

The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library is an independent library. Library cards are not interchangeable among other libraries. Patrons 18 years of age and older must present a picture ID with a current address. If the ID does not have the current address posted; the patron must provide one of the following:

Services for Educators

  • A Teacher Card provides a six-week loan period with no renewals for print materials and non-fiction audio-visual materials, excluding any new materials. Due to limits in our collection, seasonal materials well be limited to 2 items per card. No items from another library can be checked out on a Teacher Card. To obtain a Teacher Card, a patron must have a regular Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Card. Teacher Cards are available to teachers Pre-K through grade 12 and homeschool parents. A teacher must show a staff ID badge or other proof of employment to obtain a Teacher Card.

Open Access

The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library extends open access of all library materials to all library patrons with the exception of children under the age of 18 whose parent or legal guardian has specified that they may not borrow video cassettes/DVDs.

Gallery, Display Cases and General Exhibits

The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library encourages local artists, photographers, crafts people, and collectors to display their work in the library. Exhibit space is not available for partisan political activities, for profit organizations, or groups which have unlawful discriminatory membership requirements. The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library does not endorse the beliefs or viewpoints of topics which may be the subject of library exhibits.

The exhibitor must complete and sign the form “Guidelines for Art Exhibits and Displays”.

Library Card Expiration Policy

Library cards expire after a three year period now, rather than a 5 year period.
