Reading And Writing Festival

Sponsored by the Six District Educational Compact, the Festival takes place at Kent State University in May every year for 7th and 8th grade students from local schools. The 2017 Festival will be held on on Tuesday May 2, 2017, with featured author Shelley Pearsall. Students will get to meet the guest author and participate in sessions involving book cover art, drama, poetry, and various writing contests, all pertaining to the Festival Books. Students also have the opportunity to meet and interact with professional storyteller and author Kevin Cordi, and bestselling author Cinda Williams Chima, who each lead workshop sessions during the Festival. See bottom of page for contact info and Festival details.

Ms. Pearsall is the author of All of the Above, Jump Into the Sky, Crooked River, Trouble Don't Last, All Shook Up, and The Seventh Most Important Thing. Visit her website for more information about her books and her life as a writer: shelleypearsall.com
