Reading And Writing Festival

Sponsored by the Six District Educational Compact, the Festival takes place annually at Kent State University in May and is for 7th and 8th grade students from local schools.  Students get to meet the guest author and participate in sessions involving book cover art, drama, poetry, and various writing contests, all pertaining to the Festival Books. Students also have the opportunity to meet and interact with professional storyteller and author Kevin Cordi, who leads a storytelling workshop session during the Festival. See bottom of page for Festival contact information.

Our guest author this year is Scott Reintgen (pronounced "Rankin"), who is the author of Ashlords, Blood Sworn, the Nyxia trilogy, and the Talespinners trilogy for younger readers. Visit his website for more information about his books and his life as a writer: itspronouncedrankin.com Follow him on Twitter (@Scott_Thought) and on Instagram (@reintgen).

Learn more about the Festival book authors by clicking on their names below. All of the Festival books are available at the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library and at other local public libraries, as well as at your school library.
