Bring the family (grades K-12) to the library any time between 10am and 4pm to play some classic board games like Sorry, Life, Candyland, and Chutes & Ladders. Learn how to play new games you may not be familiar with, like Settlers of Catan or Labyrinth. Play Magic: The Gathering (bring your own deck), The Great Dalmudi and other fun card games! Play Sequence Dice, Dungeon Dice, Yahtzee & other dice games! A wide variety of games will be available to try out.
Learn how to make an Egyptian-style bracelet with Belinda Richardson. Supplies are provided by the library but are limited in number, so registration is required. Crazy for doowop? Are you a fan of acapella rock? You won't want to miss this live performance by Millennium Forte, a 12 member local teen acappella group formed by Jon Ilcisko and Eli Forbes. Enjoy a fun evening of pop songs of the decades, from The Beach Boys to Bruno Mars.
Join us as the Bethany Concert Band returns to the library with a medley of Christmas and Hanukkah tunes. This 30-piece band recalls the big-band era with style. Explore King Tut’s tomb and its treasures as M. J. Albacete presents The Tomb of Tutankhamun. Dr. Albacete’s presentation includes many vivid photographs that document the exploration and tell the story of the finding of King Tutankhamun’s tomb. King Tut was one of the most famous leaders of an ancient civilization who came into power at a young age. The discovery of his tomb has made him a very popular figure of ancient Egypt. Dr. Albacete is the executive director of the Canton Museum of Art.
Learn all about vegan nutrition during this informative program at the library. Anya Todd, a licensed dietitian specializing in vegan nutrition will be discussing the basics of vegan nutrition, explaining the components of a balanced diet; the health benefits of a vegan diet; debunking common nutrition myths; and identifying nutrients you may need to supplement.
