Elephant, Piggie & Pete - Stories and more.  Join Miss Chris on Saturday, November 17 at 10:30AM for stories, activities and games featuring favorite storybook characters.  This special story time is geared to preschool and K-2 children, but anyone is welcome to attend.  No registration necessary.

Play our new Around the World Book Bingo for a chance to win one of four $25 gift cards to the Learned Owl. Pick up a Bingo card in the Children’s Department, complete Bingo by reading or accomplishing tasks on the card (cross off any five in a row, any direction) and return the form to receive a drawing ticket and a decorative badge for our window. You can play as many times as you want – and along the way you will learn more about people who live in a different place than you, speak a different language than you or who practice a different culture than you.

Jump, sing, dance, move and more in this active program for toddlers and preschoolers, Fridays, September 14, October 12 and December 14 at 10:30 AM. Experience songs, rhymes, imaginative play, dancing and more. Use props, and practice early literacy skills with active movement. Passes given on arrival. A second session will take place immediately after the first session if needed.

Life-sized Candy Land

Make your way through the Gumdrop Mountain, Peppermint Forest and more on our life sized Candy Land board, stopping to collect candies along the way. Don't forget to visit the storytime room when your game is done to enjoy a special treat! No registration is required, but families do need to check in at the children's information counter when they arrive that day to get a number to play the game.

K-6th grade kids can read to our therapy dogs!  This helps children build confidence in their reading ability with this impartial audience.  No registration required.  Sign up for a 15-minute timeslot when you arrive.  Bring your favorite book or choose one of ours.  This program runs from 1:30-2:30 PM on Sundays from September 23 through December 16, excluding November 25.

Do you know about Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat, and all things Harry Potter? Join other fans of the J. K. Rowling series for role playing, crafts, and activities.

Registration is required to ensure enough materials are available at each meeting. Once you register for one month, you are registered for all 3 Fall meetings. Registration begins on Monday, August 27, 2018, at 9 AM, either online, in person, or by phone (330-688-3295 ext. 5).

Spike's Place wants to help your 4 or 5 year old child prepare for Kindergarten! Join Miss Nancy and Miss Evie in a room filled with activities that provide practice for Kindergarten readiness skills recommended by the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. Caregivers will learn some simple ways to continue practicing those skills at home.

No registration is required for this program on the following first Fridays at 10:30 AM: September 7, October 5, and November 2.

Touch a Truck returns to the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Saturday, September 15 from 10 AM to 12 PM. This year attendees can see and experience a Stow fire truck, police car, ambulance and several construction vehicles.
