Teens in grades 7 to 12, join Teen Librarian Christina on Sunday afternoons to watch a recent movie based on a popular teen novel, and then discuss the book vs. the movie: which did you like better? How would you have filmed the book? Free popcorn! Copies of the next book in our series will be available at each club meeting for the first 15 teens who register at the Reference Desk or by calling (330) 688-3295 ext.

   This inter-library event includes spelling competitions for both the young and old. Sixth through twelfth grade participate in a youth bee, while adults compete in their own bee, with more challenging words. Stow patrons must pre-register online or by phone to participate.

OWN THE NIGHT!

Teens 12-18 are invited to spend an evening at the library after hours,  as part of a nationwide lock-in event. Partygoers will “virtually” meet teens from over 50 other libraries around the country and have fun in the library at night! Come dressed as a zombie if you wish; we  will demonstrate how to put on zombie makeup so you can “zombify” yourself! (makeup provided)

Join our team of 7th and 8th grade readers as they compete against teams from Cuyahoga Falls Library and Twinsburg Public Library in this fast-paced book trivia game (think Academic Challenge, using buzzers). Teams answer questions based on the following four books they all read over the summer: Black Hole Sun, by David Macinnis Gill; Schooled, by Gordon Korman; Legend, by Marie Lu; and Rush For the Gold, by John Feinstein.

Love Angry Birds? Here’s your chance to play the game almost for real!  For grades 5-6. Teams will compete by building piggy forts, then flinging birds at them using a giant slingshot! Compete in a tournament, make an Angry Birds game to take home, play the app on our iPads and have a snack!
