Peeped into any good books recently? Let your imagination run to Peeps! Create a diorama depicting your favorite book or story using marshmallow Peeps®. For kids (ages 4-11), teens (ages 12-18), and grownups too! Prizes awarded in each age category, including $10, $15 and $20 Target gift cards, PEEPS books, and Peeps merchandise. Enter by yourself or as part of a team. Turn in your entry on Tues. March 22 between 9am-8:30pm. Winners will be announced at our PEEPS PARTY on Wed. March 23 from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Join us in celebrating National Poetry Month with an open-mic night. Read an original poem and enter for the chance to win a $25 cash prize! Prizes will be awarded at the judges’ discretion. The judges are experienced writers from Kent State University. Winners will have their poem featured in the library’s May FinePRINT newsletter and posted on the library’s Facebook page. Open Mic Night is for anyone age 12 and up. Participants may read previously published work but will not be eligible for a prize.
We’re gearing up for National Poetry Month in April with this special Poetry Writing Workshop. Join Amanda Stovicek, Teaching Artist from Kent State University, as she guides you through the expressive art of poetry. This workshop is open to ages 12 and up. All writing levels welcome. All of the amateur photographers who entered the Photography Contest, and their guests, are invited to join us for the unveiling of this year's entries in our contest exhibition. Winning entries will be revealed, and awards given to winning photographers. Refreshments and prizes provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library. All entries will be on display in the library from July 19 through July 30.
