Play the creative videogame Minecraft against each other on our library server. We'll have different challenges each session, with some in Creative Mode and some in Survival Mode. A paid Minecraft account is NOT neccessary, as you will be logging in to our special version of the game on the library's lab computers. For grades 7 to 12 (completed 6th grade). Space is limited, so signup is required; limit of 3 sessions per teen, so that everyone has a chance to play.
Have a soak-tacular time playing in a 20 ft. square area of FOAM! Think of an outdoor bubble bath, but without the water--just lots and lots of bubbles! Wear a bathing suit and/or old clothes, and bring a towel. The foam is hypo-allergenic and nontoxic, but you will get WET! The foam will be at a lower height/volume for the first hour and higher for the second.
Teens 12-18 (grades 7-12) are invited to spend an evening at the library after hours, as part of a nationwide event. Our teens will “virtually” meet teens from over 50 other libraries around the country and have fun in the library at night! Activities will include:
Make a craft; eat pizza!
Take part in a Photo Scavenger Hunt
Toshokan: the Japanese word for "library"
ToshoCon: A "mini convention" devoted to all things anime and manga! For teens grades 7 to 12.
Are you into roleplaying and trading card games? Would you like to learn how to play?
Showcase your photography skills during our upcoming Amateur Photography Contest at the library. Photos may be submitted to the Adult and Teen Information Desk anytime on Tues., August 5 or Wed., August 6 [9 a.m. - 9 p.m.].
Join our team of 7th and 8th grade readers as they compete against teams from Cuyahoga Falls Library, the Akron-Summit County Public Library, and Twinsburg Public Library in this fast-paced book trivia game (think Academic Challenge, using buzzers). Teams answer questions based on the following four books they all read over the summer: Jump Into The Sky, by Shelley Pearsall; Leviathan, by Scott Westerfeld; Ring of Fire, by P.D. Baccalario; and The Red Pyramid, by Rick Riordan.
