If you're a student at the Stow-Munroe Falls High School and you like to read, stop by the school library during your study hall or lunch period to join our Book Club. Each study hall group reads the same book and discusses it, plus any other books we're reading. Christina the teen librarian brings copies of each month's book to the school for you to keep, courtesy of the Friends of the SMF Library, and you have a whole month to read it. See Mrs.

National Teen Lock-in "Masquerade Madness"

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to spend an evening at the library after hours,  as part of a nationwide event. Our teens will “virtually” meet teens from over 50 other libraries around the country and have fun in the library at night! Activities will include:

Cosplay (wear a costume!)

Make a craft

Eat pizza!

Take part in a Photo Scavenger Hunt

Join our team of 7th and 8th grade readers as they compete against teams from Hudson Library, Cuyahoga Falls Library, the Akron-Summit County Public Library, and Twinsburg Public Library in this fast-paced book trivia game (think Academic Challenge, using buzzers). Teams answer questions based on the following four books they all read over the summer: The Compound, by S.A. Bodeen; Okay For Now, by Gary Schmidt; The Last Dragonslayer, by Jasper Fforde; and Ungifted, by Gordon Korman.

For youth ages 5 to 17 who are familiar with the basic rules of chess. No signup necessary. Instruction is from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., and game play is from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30.

Spend your holiday break on Boardwalk! You become the hat, the car, or token of your choice, as you walk around our room-size playing "board." Roll giant dice and buy properties, land in Jail, do everything as in the regular game but at LIFE SIZE! Sign up with a friend to play on a team of 2 players, or be randomly assigned to a team. 12:30 — 2:00 p.m. for 3rd-5th graders or 3:00 — 4:30 p.m. for 6th grade & up. Registration begins Dec. 13, at the Teen Information Desk (first floor) or by calling 330-688-3295 ext. 4.
