Touch a Truck 2013

Over 800 patrons visited the library to get an up close and personal look at 20 different vehicles, from a SWAT armored truck to a Brinks truck, from Herbie the Love Bug to a DeLorean. New this year was the Krav food truck, the Army pallet loader and more!

Star Wars Party

About 150 "younglings" attended our Star Wars party, where they went through Padawan Training games to become "Jedi Knights"; played Star Wars videogames and Jeopardy trivia games; made character masks; and met costumed characters, for an afternoon of fun set in a galaxy far, far away.

Live Angry Birds Tournament

Tweens in grades 5 and 6 had a blast flinging stuffed birds at pigs hiding in block forts constructed by their opposing team. They also made a bird craft to take home, played games on the library's iPads, and had bird and piggy cookies for snack.

Manga Drawing Workshop w/Mark Crilley

Mark Crilley, author of the three graphic novel series Akiko, Miki Falls, and Brody's Ghost, and the new how-to-draw book Mastering Manga, gave a workshop and hands-on drawing demonstration to library teens. Copies of his Brody's Ghost books were available for purchase, courtesy of The Learned Owl Bookshop, and he signed autographs for his fans.
