According to the 2011 Impact of Social Media in Small Business Study, about 50% of small businesses use social media. Facebook added over 200 million users in 2011 and over 80% of all online visitors use Facebook and other social media sites daily. Small businesses can greatly benefit from incorporating Facebook and other social media sources in their marketing and advertising strategies.
Reference Librarian Susan Falkman will provide an overview of various types of social media and their advertising opportunities for small business. Program participants will take a look at Facebook and the tools it provides to assist companies with advertising and marketing choices.
Participants will not be setting up a Facebook account at this program. They may bring laptops, notebooks, iPads, tablets, etc. to take notes and explore Facebook possibilities during the program if they wish.
