Many people use their computers for web surfing and email, and not much else. Should they have to purchase expensive office software just to type an occasional letter? Not anymore!
In recent years several suites of free, online office productivity software have been released. This software doesn’t need to be installed on a PC; it simply works over the Web, in your browser. Documents can be accessed on any computer or device that is connected to the Internet.
This class will introduce you to the Google Docs office suite and the Microsoft Web Apps suite. These services permit online document creation and editing, as well as live online collaboration. We will look at working with their word processors and spreadsheets.
