Join Belinda Richardson and create colorful Tussie Mussie bouquets as she helps you prepare for fall décor. These silk flowers will be perfect for your front door! Tussie Mussies are small bouquets that contain herbs and flowers. They were often carried by women and men from ancient times through the Middle Ages. Their popularity swelled in prerevolutionary France and again on both sides of the Atlantic during the Victorian era. During the nineteenth century, instructions on how to make tussie-mussies abounded in American periodicals such as Godey’s Lady’s Book and Peterson’s, and young ladies were judged socially on their skill in making hand bouquets. These quaint, aromatic bouquets will accent any room of the house! Registration for this program begins Monday, July 7. This free program is cosponsored by the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library and the Friends of the Library.
