Reading Without Walls begins August 1st and will continue until November 30.  This reading program was created by Gene Luen Yang, the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and sponsored by Children’s Book Week, Every Child a Reader, the Library of Congress and Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group.  This program was developed in order to provide opportunities for children of all ages and their families to read books in ways that will expand their horizons.  It is designed to break down reading walls!  Come in and choose a book about “a character who doesn’t look like you or live like you,” “a book about a topic you don’t know much about,” or a book in a different format than you are used to reading (audiobook, novel in verse, poetry, graphic novel, ebook, biography, nonfiction, etc.).  Be sure to take an entry form with you.  After you read the book, simply turn the entry form in and wait to see if you are a winner!  One entry will be randomly chosen each month to win a gift certificate to a local bookstore.  Prizes sponsored by the Friends of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library and the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library.
