    Staff Picks

January's staff pick is Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire, recommended by Public Service Assistant Elizabeth Frisina. This book is a companion piece to the very popular novel, Wicked. The story follows Liir, who may or may not be the son of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, as he sets out to find a missing girl who may be his half-sister. Fans of the first book will not be disappointed. Even after a gap of ten years between the books' publications, the writing is just as vibrant the second time around.

Place a hold on this book by going to the library's online catalog at http://www.smfpl.org/catalog.htm.
