Pet show rescheduled
As in past years, adults can read books or listen to books on CD, tape or Playaway and fill out entry forms. There will be weekly drawings for great prizes and a grand prize drawing at the end of the program.

Weekly prize drawing winners:
Children can stop by the library and sign up for the summer reading program. They will receive a reading record that can be used to record all the time spent reading this summer. Prizes will be awarded each time a reading goal is met. Children who can’t yet read can record time spent being read to by a parent or other adult. The Book Bingo game will give children more opportunities to win. Pick up a game sheet at the library, read the appropriate books, turn in your sheet and start all over again. Keep checking for updates on summer reading programs and summer activities.
Back By Popular Demand.....Book Bags!!
Harry Potter Midnight Magic Members of the winning house will go home with a special prize. Come in Hogwarts costume and automatically win a free house point. Food will be provided by "Honeydukes," including Chocolate Frogs and Ginger Beer. At midnight you may be one of twenty lucky patrons to go home with a free copy of the new book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Books will be given away in a raffle, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. You must have a valid Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library card to participate in the raffle. Put on your dress robes and dancing shoes, grab your wand, and come to Midnight Magic at the library. Registration is requested, but not required. Call the library at 330-688-3295 after July 2 if you plan to attend.

Get Organized! On Tuesday, July 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., assess your organizing choices and style and find solutions to regain control of the chaos and clutter in your life. Registration is limited. Call 330-688-3295 or stop by the Information Desk to register. The program will be held in the Stow-Munroe Falls meeting room at the library.

Joshua Stow Fest and Library Day Winners Sixty-three people entered the Pride in Your Library Day Raffle during Pride in Stow Week. Alice Jackson won a mug, Kellee Wright won a tote bag and Cathy Beer won an umbrella. New titles are arriving daily at Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. Some of the new titles this month are:
Evening Book Discussions The evening book discussion group with Amy Garrett will meet again beginning in September 2007. Discussions will be on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. except in November and December.The November meeting will be the third Thursday at 7 p.m. and the December meeting will be the second Thursday at 7 p.m. Copies of the book will again be available at the Information Desk.

Need to Use a Computer? Call ahead and reserve one!
Computer Training
Students should have their Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library cards available when they come for their tickets. The classroom has eleven seats at computers and an additional three seats without a computer. If all eleven "computer" tickets are taken, three "non-computer" tickets will go to the next three students.This change is to prevent students from being closed out of classes on the first day of registrations. We hope that this new system will make it easier for out students to get the classes they want.
Mystery Jeopardy Ages 12 to 18 can come to the library on Monday, July 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to play Mystery Jeopardy. It is a fast-paced quiz game just like the television show only all about mystery books, mystery movies and mystery television shows. Prizes and food will be provided. Registration is not required.

Summer Story-times Summer Story-times run through July 27. Registration is not required. Toddler Story-time is for children ages 0 to 36 months and a caregiver. Children will enjoy simple stories, interactive songs and activities. Sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Preschool Story-time is for children ages 3-5. Caregivers may attend. Children will enjoy stories, songs and activities. Sessions are Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Family Story-time is for children ages 3-5 and their families. Children will enjoy stories, songs and activities. Sessions are Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Snacks may be served at some story-times. Please inform staff of any food allergies. For more information, contact the Children's Department.

Drive-Up Window Don't forget about the Drive-Up Window service at Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. This is an especially helpful service during inclement weather! The drive-up window is open during regular library hours and closes 15 minutes before library closing.

The paintings of Hilary H.Sheeter will be on display in the Corner Gallery from July 5 through August 6. A native of Ohio with 40 years of involvement in the creative world of visual arts, Sheeter has traveled widely in the United States to paint a variety of scenic sites. He teaches drawing and painting in watercolor and currently is an art instructor on two cruise ships. He holds memberships in the Ohio Watercolor Society and other local art clubs. Don't miss this beautiful exhibit! Sylvia Trundle's Civil War miniature watercolors will be on display in glass display case #1 from July 5 to August 6. Trundle is an elected member of the Miniature Artists of America. Doris Hentzel's Movie Star Postcards will be on display in glass display case #2 from July 5 to August 6.
These exhibits may be viewed during regular library hours.
The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation was incorporated in 1994 as a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3)
organizaton. The Foundation is is dedicated to ensuring a great library system by raising, managing and allocating funds
to expand and improve the library. ![]() The Foundation's 2nd annual Dessert Extravaganza will be Saturday, September 8. Last year, 17 local restaurants participated, donating and serving their signature desserts. Once again, restaurants are needed to participate and individuals and businesses are needed to donate items for the silent auction, held during the evening's festivities. The donor's name or the business name will be added to the Dessert Extravaganza event program. Last year, a wide range of donations were received, including a wine and cheese basket, an original painting, railroad tickets, an American Flag, sports items and services from local businesses. The Friends of the Library is a citizen support group for Library services and activities. They sponsor booksales as well as the annual Needlework Show and other activities. Friends meet the third Tuesday of every month (except December and July) at 2:00 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room. It is call the Healing Hands Quilt. Pvt. Joseph Tomci was a Marine who had visited Fishcreek Elementary School. The children wrote letters to Joseph. After his death, they printed their hands on the quilt squares and it was assembled and given to Suzy. One of the Fishcreek students also wrote a book about Joseph--it's displayed with the quilt. This special tribute will be on display over the main circulation desk through the end of July.
