At the February, 2008 meeting of the Munroe Falls Historical Society, University of Akron Geology professor John Peck presented an overview of the research he conducted at the site of the former Munroe Falls dam. Core samples of the river bed and its sediment were taken at all times of the year, both before and after the dam was removed.
