This is a history of the Gaylord family written by Hattie Gaylord Bentel, who was born June 27, 1861. At the time she wrote this, she was one of only five grandchildren of Johnathan Gaylord still living. Johnathan Gaylord and his extended family traveled from Middletown, Connecticut to stake a claim and settle along the banks of the Cuyahoga River in what is today Munroe Falls. Only pages 1 through 3 of a nine page Gaylord history are included in this article.
