Join the Friends

Membership in the Friends of the Library is only $5 for individuals or $10 for an entire family. Membership applications are easy to fill out and are available at the library or online.

What are the Friends Doing?

The mission of the Friends of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library is to focus public attention on library functions, services, facilities and needs, and to provide resources and equipment not available from public funds. Read our NEWSLETTER.

  • Flag pole outside the Library
  • Bert Bell Garden in front of the Library
  • Television set in the lobby
  • Events Monitor by the elevator
  • Lectern in the meeting room
  • Geochron Clock
  • Special shelving and electronic sign in the Teen Area
  • Storage case in the History Room
  • Large display case outside Children’s Room

Behind the scenes, from the Friends:

  • New paper cutter for the Public Relations Department
  • New money saving disc cleaner for Technical Services

Support for Library programs:

The Friends of the Library often provide funds for public programs, speakers, refreshments and prizes for various events. A luncheon is provided for new teachers in the district and also for Staff In-Services Day. In addition:

  • Gas cards and ACME Freshmarket giftcards given away through Library drawings.
  • Food, prizes and books for the Harry Potter Party were given by the Friends.
  • Food and prizes for Children's and Teen programming.

Staff Appreciation and Support:

  • Two dining tables, chairs, sofa and easy chairs for Staff Lounge
  • Refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave for Staff use
  • Water cooler in Circulation Office
  • Funds supporting staff enrichment and education
  • Polo Shirts for recognition at community events
