Donations for Book Sales

Donations of books and other materials for Book Sales are accepted anytime at the Library circulation desk.

On special Book Donation Days, curb service is available from 10 AM to 2 PM.  Donations of used books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, records, games or puzzles will be accepted. Drive up to the back door of the Library for Curb Service.  Anyone donating 10 or more items at the back door on Donation Day can receive a pass to attend the next Friends’ Presale (Wednesday of Sale week from 10 AM to 1 PM).

What happens to book donations?

The Library may choose to select unique donations, best sellers or special items for its own collection. All donated items are examined for quality, classified and organized by the Friends volunteers. Contributions are priced for the Book Sales, boxed and stored. Prior to each sale, materials are displayed for our customers in a well-ordered fashion including special divisions for puzzles and audio-visual materials. This process takes countless hours and requires the support of many. At the conclusion of the Book Sales, unsold items are offered to teachers and non-profit organizations at no cost. The few items that remain are recycled for further profit to the Library and to avoid the landfill. The Friends strive to present a fresh selection of materials at each Sale.
