Teen Library Lock-In 2011Teen Library Lock-In 201197Teens had fun at our summer lock-in, staying up til midnight to play games, eat pizza, make a craft, meet an author and see other teens online at other, simultaneous, library lock-ins. Costumes at Harry Potter moviesCostumes at Harry Potter movies5To celebrate the release of the final Harry Potter movie, we showed the last four films on the big screen and had free popcorn. These intrepid Potter fans dressed up in costume to win prizes!

Pet Show 2011Pet Show 201156Summer fun kicked off with a great Pet Show on June 22. More than thirty pets participated, winning awards and meeting the children. Snakes and lizards joined dogs, cats, and chinchillas for a fun-filled evening at the library. Learn about more events for kids at our Children's page at www.smfpl.org.

Mario Kart Wii tournamentMario Kart Wii tournament1228 players raced each other to the finish! Bryan C and Halle H. were our final top two players, with Bryan coming out ahead. The Friends of the LIbrary provided GameStop giftcards to the winners, and Pizza Hut of Stow donated pizza and prizes too.

Touch a Truck Day 2011Touch a Truck Day 201198A ladder fire truck, an ambulance, a police cruiser and "prisoner transport vehicle," a moving van, a tow truck, a postal service truck, a cement mixer and a flatbed truck were all on hand--as well as the library's "book vehicle"--for children to sit in and climb on and learn more about.

High School Book Club party 2011High School Book Club party 201125Members of the high school book club came to the public library for the last meeting of the year, for a field trip. They got a behind the scenes tour, made "Stacks Poetry", discussed our last book of the year, and had lunch from Bellacino's of Stow. A great time was had by all.
