Staff Picks
March's staff pick is Zorro: a Novel by Isabel Allende, recommended by Adult Services Associate Bridget Hair. If you want a rollicking read, with daring horsemanship, sword-play, sea battles with pirates and prison escapes - read Zorro! New in 2005, this is an imaginative and romantic prequel to the legend of Zorro. The origins of this 19th century Spanish "Robin Hood" are explained: How did he learn to be an expert swordsman? Why does he wear all black? Where did he get his horse? Why does he take risks to help the underdog? It is all divulged by a "secret author" whose identity is revealed at the end. Truly fun!
Place a hold on this book by going to the library's online catalog at http://www.smfpl.org/catalog.htm.
