  • A Teacher Card provides a six-week loan period with no renewals for print materials and non-fiction audio-visual materials, excluding any new materials. Due to limits in our collection, seasonal materials well be limited to 2 items per card. No items from another library can be checked out on a Teacher Card. To obtain a Teacher Card, a patron must have a regular Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Card. Teacher Cards are available to teachers Pre-K through grade 12 and homeschool parents. A teacher must show a staff ID badge or other proof of employment to obtain a Teacher Card. A homeschool parent must provide a letter of verification from his or her school district. A Teacher Card is for professional use only, and should not be used to check out items for personal use. Patrons will be charged for any lost or damaged items.
  • Teacher Holds: To request a teacher hold, simply call the library at least 24 hours in advance and let us know the subject, grade level and number of items you require and they will be pulled and waiting for pick up here in the library. Teacher Holds can also be sent via delivery to teachers in the Stow-Munroe Falls School District, if the teacher has a valid Teacher Card and gives at least 2 days notice. SAVE TIME! Submit your Teacher Hold request to the library electronically.
  • Classroom Collections: Collections of supplementary reading materials can be provided with a valid Teacher Card. Bins of age-appropriate fiction materials will be pulled for your class on a monthly basis at your request. Delivery is available to teachers in the Stow-Munroe Falls School District. Contact the Children's Department to set up this service.
  • Request a PATHFINDER. Pathfinders are lists of age-appropriate websites on a specific topic. We'll identify Internet sites relating to your assignment and link them on the Library's Homework Help page under your name. Please allow at least 3 school days for a pathfinder to be created and posted.
  • Homework Table: For elementary classes, alert the library a few days in advance of any assignment and we can reserve books for your class to use here in the library, and ensure that all your students have access to the material they need.
  • Online Databases: Access our reference services from anywhere by using our online databases. Click here to access online storybooks, e-books, magazine and newspaper articles, encyclopedias, atlases and many other subject-specific reference sources, for all grade levels. Librarians can demonstrate how to use databases in staff meetings or classes upon request.
  • Parent/Teacher Collection: Our Parent/Teacher Collection contains a variety of materials, both audio-visual and print, from curriculum support to ideas for discipline and controlling your classroom. We have sources to help bring Character Counts into your classroom. Any suggestions for additions to the collections are welcome.
  • Traveling Tales: Bring the magic of storytelling into your classroom! We offer stories on a variety of topics from Spanish stories to African Folktales. With appropriate notice, we can prepare stories to fit your needs. Call the Children's Room early in the school year to set up a visit. Schedule is limited.
  • Classroom Visits: Librarians are available to visit your classroom for a story time or book talk in conjunction with your lessons. Field trip visits to the library are also welcome. Tours, story times and computer or database instruction are available upon request. Call the Children's Department to schedule a visit.
