So you think you’re a master builder? Show off your original plastic brick creation (using Legos® or similar building toy) in the library’s first-ever Virtual Brick Battle. Enter as an individual or as a team.
Who can enter?
All ages – adults, teens, tweens, and children
Is there a theme?
Your creation can have any theme, as long as it is “family-friendly” (suitable for all audiences)
What are the rules?
• Your creation should be an original design (not built using instructions from a kit)
• All characters in your scene should be made using plastic bricks or minifigures
• One entry per person or team
How do I enter?
• Email your photos to brickbattle@smfpl.org
• Remember to give your creation a title
• Tell us your name – if submitting as a team, include all team members’ names
• Tell us what age category you are entering*:
• Child ages 4 - 7
• Tween ages 8 - 11
• Teen ages 12 - 17
• Adult age 18+
* If submitting as a team, choose the category of your oldest team member
When is the deadline?
Email your photos by 5 PM on Sun., August 16
How will the entries be judged?
Each entry will be judged on originality, overall appearance, and creative use of bricks. Winners will receive Target gift cards, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Will there be voting for People’s Choice?
Yes! A photo album of all entries will be posted on Facebook on Wed., August 19. The photo that receives the most “likes” by 5 PM on Thurs., August 20 will win the People’s Choice Award.
How will winners be announced?
Winners from each category will be posted on social media on Fri., August 21.
