Once again we had an awesome Rock Star School concert, on July 31. Five newly formed bands played their first concert here, after rehearsing all summer at Sound Board Music. The bands were: NoMed, Violent Revulsion, StoneRock, The Mix, and Revolution Nine. See photos of the jammin' action at our Flickr Photo Gallery.
This year's Battle of the Books is over, and Stow-Munroe Falls' team made a heroic effort to beat Twinsburg on the very last, tie-breaking question--but alas, it was not to be. The final result: Twinsburg 420, Stow 410, Cuyahoga Falls 255. The game was very close all along, with Stow leading for most of the game, until the final minutes when Twinsburg caught up, tied the game, and managed to buzz in fastest on that crucial final question.
Keith Foster is the winner of our first ever Teen Book Video Contest--he's won a brand new Flip camcorder! Congratulations, Keith! Keith chose to make a video about the Chekhov play, The Seagull. His winning video can be viewed here.
Want to spruce up your old white tshirts? tie-dye them! These teens came to our tie-dye program and squirted their way to cooler-looking clothes. Check out the "before" photos in the Teen Photos page. We'll post photos of their finished shirts later.
Our recent Recycled Crafts program showed teens how to make a wallet out of an old audiocassette tape. With some felt, a zipper, and hot glue, we gave life to an old medium. Here are directions to do it yourself.Decorate them with stickers and markers.
Check out our Teen Flickr photosets for some artsy shots of Dance Dance Revolution players! Next week's program is Recycled Crafts; come make a wallet from an audiocassette or a Hawaiian lei out of grocery bags. (Really!)

Fantasy author Tamora Pierce spoke at the library recently, about her books (Bloodhound is out now!), her cats, her writing life, and even showed us her tattoos! She was a funny speaker who enjoyed answering any question the audience threw her way, and she stayed until late to autograph books and talk some more with fans. See photos on the Teen Flickr Photos page.
