Teens' Top Ten Galley Reviews

This page is for members of the Stow-Munroe Falls High School/Public Library Book Club to submit their reviews and nominations of YALSA Galleys and other 2018 book titles for Teens' Top Ten. Remember you can nominate any book published during 2018, not just the advance uncorrected proofs (galleys) being sent to us by publishers.

Use this link to review and nominate one of the GALLEYS (Unpublished books). Choose SMFHS Book Club as the name of our group in the dropdown menu choices: YALSA Teens' Top Ten Review Form

Use this link to nominate an existing 2018 book (one that is already published, NOT a galley): Group Nomination Form

What makes a Teens’ Top Ten book? It should keep readers' interest through personal, often emotional involvement with the book. A TTT book should also be memorable and worth reading again. Each book should be unique, not a clone of every other teen book. A TTT book offers a new perspective, a new way of thinking. A TTT book's subject matter applies to teens. If the story is about social issues that teens face, it should be realistic, not sugar-coated. Good descriptions help readers picture the setting; great imagery lets you feel as if you're there. But in the end, a TTT book is just a book you couldn't put down and loved to read!

Shortened versions of the Teens Top Ten reviews will also be posted to the library's Teen Book reviews page for other teens to read when they're looking for a great book!

To get another Galley to read, see Mrs. Lanci in the school library during the school year or Teen Librarian Christina at the public library during the summer. Thanks for participating in Teens' Top Ten! Any questions, email teenlibrarian@smfpl.org or call 330-688-3295 Press 4 for teens.
