  • Plant a Row for the Hungry If every gardener plants one extra row of vegetables and donates their surplus to local food banks and soup kitchens, a significant impact can be made on reducing hunger. Spread the word!

  • International Book Project A non-profit organization that sends books to those in need in developing countries.

  • Alagaesia: home of Eragon If you like fantasy books about dragons and quests, like The Lord of the Rings, you'll love Eragon! Voted the Teen Buckeye Book Award and Teens Top Ten book.
  • Cool Reads A British site designed and run by two teens, with hundreds of cool-reads reviewed by teens.

  • Internet Public Library Teen Division Choose "Books and Writing." Lots of other good links here, too.
  • OH!Teens A directory of lots of teen links.
  • Poetry Today Online Reviews poetry websites, different types of poems, and the people who write them. Also has a Teen Poetry section and info on poetry contests.
  • Read Print A FREE online library of thousands of books for students, teachers and classic literature fans (titles include Dracula, Little Women, The War of the Worlds, and many more!)
  • Reading Rants Out of the ordinary, funny book lists, on topics like Riot Grrrls and Gen X-Files.
  • Teen Reads Book reviews and author interviews.
  • Teens Top Ten Read the nominated books--a printed list is available in the library--and see if your favorites made the list. Vote every October for the new list.
  • Teen Buckeye Book Award For high school students (or homeschoolers grades 9-12) in Ohio only. These were chosen by teens in Ohio to be the best books they've read this year. Read as many as you can and nominate and vote for your favorites.
  • TeenInk Submit your own work to TeenInk magazine and see yourself in print! This site has tons of writing, contests, photos & artwork, all by teens.
  • Teen Speak Today for the Leaders of Tomorrow A newsmagazine written by teens for teens. "Through their articles, they inspire their peers to take an interest in topics that they might not otherwise be interested in learning about from traditional "adult" publications." Learn how you can submit articles and become a journalist.
  • YA Authors Cafe Chat with authors of YA/teen literature, and visit their websites to learn more about them. A different author featured every month.
