Join the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

Are you passionate about the library and want to make a difference in your community? Join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) and help shape the library into a space that truly reflects the needs and interests of teens.

TAB is all about giving teens a voice. Our mission is to help the library grow its resources, services, and events for teens, while having fun and meeting new people along the way! By participating, you’ll gain valuable leadership experience and earn community service hours.

All students in grades 7 - 12 are welcome to apply.

What we do:

  • Plan exciting teen events
  • Volunteer at library programs
  • Write book reviews and recommendations for our teen collection
  • Serve as a “Library Ambassador” and help spread the word about what the library has to offer
  • Make the library an even better place for teens

How to join:

  • Membership is open by application and is selective
  • While submitting an application doesn’t guarantee membership, we’re looking for teens who are enthusiastic about helping their community and who enjoy being part of the library

What's expected of members:

To keep TAB engaging and productive, members are encouraged to:

  • Take part in meetings and share their ideas • Volunteer at least 8 hours per year by:
    • Attending at least 4 meetings (about 8 hours)
    • Helping plan and/or attend TAB events
    • Helping at library children’s programs (TAB members must be age 14 –18 for this particular responsibility)
  • Submit at least 2 short book reviews (or other library material reviews) each year

We also ask that members have a personal (non-school) email account they check regularly, so we can stay in touch.

We know life can get busy – if you ever need support meeting these goals, just reach out! We’re happy to work with you to make sure TAB is a positive and manageable experience.
