Outreach

Preschool & Day Care

The children’s outreach team visits all of the preschools and day cares in Stow and Munroe Falls on a monthly basis. We visit the following preschools and day cares: Children's Place, Tot's Landing, Childtime, Small Steps - Big Strides, Kid's Country, Stow Alliance Preschool, Play and Learn, All Around Children, Indian Trail Preschool, Stow United Methodist Preschool, The Nest Early Learning Center and Holy Family Preschool.

We also offer deposit collections of materials for preschools and day cares that are delivered monthly.  The following facilities receive materials:  All Around Children, Akron General Health and Wellness Center, Indian Trail Preschool, Play and Learn, Small Steps - Big Strides, Stow Alliance Preschool, Stow United Methodist Preschool and Tot's Landing.

In addition, we welcome preschools and day cares to the library with our family night programs.  Day cares and preschools may schedule one special night a year for their families to come to the library for an extra special story time with the outreach librarian.

School

We provide services to elementary schools with book talks, presentations about summer reading, and other programs. These services are provided by request.

Teachers can also contact us and request materials for their classrooms. We offer teacher loans on either a one-time or recurring basis.

Community

When time permits, we visit local venues or attend community events. Look for us around town at places such as Handel's and Maplewood Pool for special programs for the community.

We also manage four Little Free Libraries in Stow and Munroe Falls. The Friends of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library provide a selection of children's and adult books at Laundry Time at 3760 Fishcreek Road in Stow, at Brust Park in Munroe Falls, and at Meadowbrook Lake Park and Heather Hills Park in Stow. You can take these books while waiting for your laundry, visiting a playground, or taking a hike. We refresh these books frequently, so check back often to see what treasures you might find.
